Welcome to the capital city of Hanoi. You will be picked up by Vietnamtour.co.za's guide from the airport and transferred to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Leave the bustling city of Hanoi this morning and drive to the beautiful land of Mai Chau sitting gently in a small valley. The place is home to White Thai hill tribe who still holds their unique lifestyle and traditions for centuries.
In the afternoon, take your time to relax at your eco-lodge or homestay. Lunch and dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the lodge or homestay.

Today you will explore this charming land with a leisurely bike ride through the beautiful rice fields and observe the daily life of the locals along the way. There are various chances to take some nice photos of small stilt houses and chat with friendly locals en route.

Today, you will be taken to the Lao border where our local guide will meet and accompany you during the next adventures. Keep driving to Vieng Xai which is famous for the historic relics and the magnificent cave system. Lunch at a local restaurant.

Vieng Xai was once served as home to communists during the Indochina war and nowadays it is a popular site in Laos for tourists to visit. Exploring the cave, you will see its astonishing size and a wonderful system of school, hospital, offices and shops… Lunch at a local restaurant.
After exploring the great relic, continue driving to Sam Neua on seal road with scenic views en route. On arrival, check-in your hotel and free to relax. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

In the morning, transfer to the National Protected Area of Nam Et-PhouLouey. After cruising down the river, you will reach your overnight place in the eco-lodge of Nam Nern Night Safari.

Get up early this morning, say goodbye to the lodge and start your trek through the lush forest. Lunch will be arranged during the trek. After lunch, you will be taken to NongKhiaw for around 4 hours.
Upon your arrival, check-in your beautiful stilt bungalow offering the views over Nam Ou River.

Try to wake up early this morning to immerse into the tranquility of the river as the sun starts to rise. After breakfast, set off your adventure with a trekking tour to the 100 -meter waterfall. Your trek could be tough sometimes but as reaching the fall, you will be rewarded with fabulous scenery.
Transfer back to the bungalow and spend time relaxing. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Leave your bungalow and drive to Luang Prabang for 3 hours. Along the way, make some stops at local villages to get a glimpse of their daily life. Once in Luang Prabang, check-in your hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing at your hotel.

Today is free to relax or explore the town on your own. You could stroll along the Nam Khan and Mekong River to take in the views with some Lao coffee or explore Lao street food. If you wish some more active adventures, you could visit some mysterious temples and the villages with your bike or a tuk-tuk. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

You are recommended to get up early this morning to participate in the traditional ritual of Tak Bat (also known as the alms giving ceremony) taking place from the break of dawn. Our guide will explain and provide more information on this important ritual.
After breakfast, start your exploration of the city with a visit to some highlights. Join our electric bike tour to get around this atmospheric town. You will visit Vat Xieng Thong Temple - the oldest, most important and most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang, Vat Senna - a colorful monastery covered with yellow and red tile. As the day comes to a close, make your way to the beautiful Phosi market and ride along the river and the sleepy streets.
The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Our prices are valid for daily departures (except some special case as explained below) for groups from 1 to 6 pax. If your party has more than 6 adults, please send us an email, we will advise our best price for your group.
Our prices are not valid for some special occasions and peak season as below:
° Christmas and New Year (normally, there will be surcharged for Gala Dinner on 24.Dec and 31.Dec Eves – applied for 4 and 5-star hotels)
° Easter Holidays: some 5-star hotels in Hoian will be surcharged for Easter Holidays
° Vietnam Lunar New Year – from 25.Feb.2020 – 03.Mar.2020 – if you travel during this period, there will be surcharged for some services – we will advise you clearly at the time of booking
Cancellation by Customer
Should you need to cancel your holiday once it has been confirmed, the party leader must immediately advise us in writing sent to us via fax or email. The following cancellation charges will be applied:
- More than 21 days prior to departure: The total of the deposit paid to us (30% of the Tour value).
- 7- 21 days prior to departure: 50% on the total value of the trip charged, due to hotel charges for no-shows and organizing fees.
- Within 1-6 days prior to departure: 100% on total charged.
- No-Show: 100% on total charged.
Note: Insurance premiums and amendment charges are not refundable in the event of cancellation.
Cancellation of domestic or international flights:
If the cancellation occurs after a deposit was paid to the Airlines, cancellation fees, of 25 – 40 % of the airfare for the domestic flight and USD30 – 50/pax for the international flight, is required (according to the policy of the Airlines).
Unused services:
No refunds or exchanges can be made with respect to accommodation, meals, sightseeing tours, transport or any other services, included in the tour price, but not utilized by the tour members.
Children Policy
For children, please note:
- Children under 2 years old: Free of charge (maximum 2 adults with 1 child under 2 years old)
- Children from 2 to 5 years old: 50% price of adults
- Children from 5 to 11 years old: 75% price of adults
- Children from 12 years old: as adult

Wow wow wow! It was an absolutely amazing trip! I cannot recommend this company highly enough! It was our first time to Asia and it was incredible! Vietnam's weather differs greatly from region to region. Depending on where and when you're going to visit, make sure you prepare for the weather before you go.
North: Best time to visit is during spring (from February and April) and autumn (from September to November). The temperatures are more moderate with lighter rainfall
Central: Best time to visit is between January and August when the weather is dry with no heavy rains
South: The best time to visit the region is during the dry season, between December and April when the city experiences warm weather without rain showers.
If you're planning to visit the whole country, it is possible to travel to any part of Vietnam during any season.
Depending on your place of choice and your interest, the duration could be varied. Normally, for first- time travelers, it will take you about 10- 14 days to discover the must-see attractions throughout Vietnam.
There are two available methods for passport holders from South Africa to choose to apply for a visa to Vietnam. You can either apply for your visa at the local embassy or obtain a visa on arrival with a visa letter.
You need to have a passport which is effective for at least 6 months beyond arrival date, 2 photos 4x6 and 2 blank pages on it for visa stamp (which costs 25$) and a visa letter. When you book tours with vietnamtour.co.za, we will offer a visa letter for free.
