Saigon to Hanoi Tour

This morning, the guide will pick you up at your hotel and depart for Ben Tre. After arriving at Ham Luong dock, board the boat & cruise along Ham Luong River, a tributary to the Mekong River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks will immediately get you excited to explore all the great things ahead. 

Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, including activated charcoal, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art. Drive around the village roads by “Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, which is a kind of motorized rickshaw, doing kayaking through the lush tropical canal.

Perfect your day with a delicious and filling lunch at a local host house. 

Break time, treating yourself to a relaxing time to relish the beautiful countryside or cycling around the village.

Visit the local fruit plantation, enjoy seasonal fresh fruits, and spend time relaxing while being rowed in a small boat slowly through the natural canals to get a sense of how truly beautiful this area is. 

Embark on the sampan and return to the dock. Travel back to Saigon. Complete your trip. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

This morning we will leave the city by private vehicle to visit the amazing tunnel network of Cu Chi. This incredible system, covering almost 250km in length was shelter to over 16,000 Viet Cong guerrillas during the wars. Initially started in 1948 to provide shelter against the French air and ground sweeps, the network went on to serve as communication routes, storage facilities, hospitals and living quarters for Vietnamese fighters throughout the American war.  If you are interested (and game) you can even descend into the tunnels to learn more about the harsh conditions faced by Vietcong guerrillas who lived there. Return to the city center. 

In the afternoon set out on a tour of the former capital of French Indochina. Historic landmarks include the Old Saigon post office, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Opera House. Continue your tour by visiting the Reunification Palace which was used as the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the American war in the 60s. After that visit the ethnic Chinese district of Cholon. 

Then, transfer back to the hotel. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel

Today you are free until being picked up and transferred without the guide to Ho Chi Minh airport for a flight to Danang. Once arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel in Hoian. Meals on your own. Overnight in Hoi An.

Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to the meeting point.

We will cycle through peaceful green paddies to reach the local market (Ba Le market). The tour guide will show you where the ingredients of the cooking courses come from and you will have chance to capture the hustle and bustle trading lives of local people. After that, we head back to the restaurant where the chef and the cooking course are waiting for you.

Upon arrival, you will have a break with a Vietnamese coffee to cool down and relax. Then, let’s join a fun bamboo basket boat ride through small creeks in water coconut fields and the folk game “bit mat dap noi”

Once you get back, we will start to cook a variety of local dishes following the given menu. Our Chef and Tour Guide will instruct and assist you to cook during the class. Afterwards we enjoy our delicious and mindful dishes together.

After lunch, we will take a lazy boat back to Hoi An Ancient Town. Sit back and enjoy the scenery and local life of fisherman along the riverside. Back to your hotel. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

Today is free to relax the town on your own or relax on the beach. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel in Hoian.

After breakfast, transfer to Danang airport for a short fly to Hanoi – the capital city of Vietnam. Upon your arrival at the airport, our guide and driver will meet and transfer you to the hotel for check-in. The balance of the day is at your leisure. The capital city of Hanoi is home to the rich culture of the country which is influenced by the culture of different countries in the world such as China, France, Southeast Asia area. Meals on your own. Overnight at the hotel in Hanoi.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be taken to another fascinating land – the gem in the north of Vietnam – Halong Bay. The drive takes you through beautiful paddy rice and mountains of the Red River Delta. Visiting the bay, you will experience the magic of the wonderful wonder of the world. 

From the harbor, board our boutique junk boat for a cruise among the numerous limestone karst rising from the emerald water. Make a stop en route to visit a grotto of spectacular stalactites and stalagmites and anchor for a relaxing swim in a hidden cave. 

Note: You are recommended to bring an overnight bag to keep your necessary luggage. We are afraid that there is not enough space to store all the luggage of every passenger on board. Moreover, after an overnight stay on board, you will turn back to the same hotel in Hanoi, so your remaining luggage will be sure to be kept safely.

After breakfast, enjoy your time to swim, sunbathe and relax in the fascinating background of the bay. After lunch on board, transfer back to Hanoi. The rest of the day is free to relax. Dinner on your own. Overnight at the hotel.

You are free to relax until being transferred to the airport for your departure flight. The room is at your disposal until noon time. Meals on your own. End of tour.
