Welcome to Mandalay. Upon your arrival, set off your sightseeing tour of the city

Start your tour with a visit to the well known Mahamuni Pagoda - one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in Burma. The temple houses the Mahamuni Buddha image, the most highly revered Buddha image in the country. The Mahamuni Buddha is covered with a thick layer of gold leaf of about 15 centimeters. Continue onto Kuthodaw Pagoda which comprises a gilded pagoda, hundreds of shrines housing inscribed marble slabs and several pavilions. The pagoda is also called “the world’s largest book”, named after the 729 marble slabs inscribed with Buddhist teachings.

Proceed to the Shwenandaw Monastery - the most significant monastery of Mandalay. The Shwenandaw is a wonderfully fragile yet grand example of 19th-century Burmese teak architecture and also a significant masterpiece of the wood-carving art.

Wrap your excursion with a visit to Mandalay Palace - the last royal palace of the last Burmese monarchy.

Return to your hotel to relax.

After breakfast at the hotel, continue your journey with a tour of the former capitals including Ava, Sagaing and Amarapura.

This morning, make your way crossing a bridge over the Irrawaddy River to reach Sagaing. Sagaing was the royal capital for only three years but it remains an important spiritual town attracting many people to meditate in its monasteries. One of the most captivating places which contain hundreds of stupas is Sagaing Hill. This hill has numerous pagodas, monasteries and meditation centers known as a peaceful place for Buddhist studies. In this trip, you will explore some famous pagodas in the region including Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin and U Min Thone Sae.

Continue to visit Sagaing’s local market where you can find a wide range of items for sale such as locally made pottery, silver and other handicrafts. You also have the chance to visit a pottery village to observe the production of water pots.

Keep driving south to the capital of Ava. Once arrival, take a short ferry ride to cross the river. When reaching the other side, get on a horse cart to visit the wooden Bagaya Monastery and the Royal Palace and Fort. The horse cart ride takes you further into small villages of the Burmese countryside which offer a great glimpse of local life. Make a stop for lunch in Ava.

Transfer back to the city with a stop at Amarapura. It was the capital of Burma in the early 19th century and is the home of a famous bridge. The main feature of the charming little town of Amarapura is its many workshops. You will stop to visit a silk weaving workshop before moving onto U Bein Bridge - the longest teak bridge in the world. Stroll along the bridge to enjoy the stunning views of the surroundings when the sun comes to close.

In the late afternoon, head back to Mandalay.

This morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight. End of tour.

Vietnam tours have been awesome, especially Ashley Trang, the agent assigned to us. After finding this tour company on Facebook and making contact with them, Ashley immediately responded to my query. She worked tirelessly and efficiently to make sure that she catered to our every need and requirement. With her advice and expertise we here able to put together an itinerary, that has allowed us to have the best experience of this beautiful country, people, food and sights.

Our trip went without hitches from being transferred to airports and awesome hotels, organised private tours with knowledgeable English speaking tour guides and plenty free time with the best advice to explore at our leasure.

Ashley paid us a personal visit at our hotel in Hanoi, a gesture beyond her scope of duty. We have left Vietnam with very pleasant memories and will definitely recommend Vietnam Tours to family and friends.

I booked my tour and from the moment of first contact Trung was amazing. He put together a bespoke tour for us that included everything we wanted to see (Hanoi, Halong Bay and Hoi An). The hotels were great, perfectly located and all the staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The day tours and experiences were exactly what we were looking for and far exceeded our expectations. It truly was an amazing tour we will never forget.

From day one the tour planning with Ashley from Vietnam tours was perfect and we had no trouble with pic-ups, tour guides and accommodation. The tour was informative and most enjoyable. We could not have asked for a better and more professional tour adviser than Ashley for the company. We had the best in 15 days what Cambodia and Vietnam could offer!!

Tipping is not customary in Vietnam but it's highly appreciated. Most the high-end services include a service fee but if you receive a service that exceeded your expectation, then a tip is highly recommended. Normally, you should tip at least 1-3 USD/pax/day for your guide and driver.

A Response from Seni World 18/07/2019

Vietnam's weather is tropical climate with high humidity creating a favorable condition for many insects especially mosquitoes. Whenever you head outside especially in mountainous areas, be sure to apply repellent to all areas of exposed skin.

A Response from Seni World 15/04/2019

Depending on individual hotels, most of the hotels in Vietnam are equipped with all necessary amenities such as hair dryers, private bathroom, safety box, shampoo, body lotion and more. If you're not sure about the quality of these kinds of stuff, you can bring your own or buy outside.

A Response from Seni World 07/12/2018

You can easily find an ATM at any major cities across the country. Though, it's hard to find one in local areas, so make sure you prepare enough money for a journey out of the city.  Do not keep too much money along you to avoid the risk of theft.
