Today, take a drive from Yangon to Kyaikhtiyo for around 5 hours. The area is home to the famous landmark of Myanmar – the Golden Rock. The sacred rock - Golden Rock lies on a protruding rock through 2000 years of history. The Rock with the temple on it has created an extremely unique relic. .  The pagoda here is said to hold a hair of the Buddha and Buddhists from across the country come here to pay homage. Along the way, make a stop at the Allied War memorial park where thousands of soldiers rested in peace.

When reaching Kin Pun located on the foot of the mountain, board on a local truck for a ride on a winding road to the top of the mountain. If you wish a more challenging adventure, you could stop half way and take a walk to the summit for around one hour.

Note: The local trucks from the camp could be crowded and uncomfortable. You should be patient as the trucks just leave when it is full of passengers. Make sure to get in time in Kinpun at 5.30, if not, you cannot get a truck to the top.

In the morning, take the chance to visit the Golden Rock again to immerse into the spectacular scenery of the temple in the golden light at the sunrise. There is also some time to visit some stupas and shrines dotted on the ridge at the top of Mount Kyaikhtiyo. Then, drive or trek back to the base camp and head back to Luang Prabang.

On the way back, make a stop in Bago for a short rest or an exploration of the former capital. Take a leisurely stroll around the local market to get a glimpse of the local life. Continue your journey to the famous Shwemawdaw Pagoda - the tallest pagoda in Bago. With its height of 114 meters, it is 15 meters taller than the Shwedagon Pagoda in nearby Yangon.  The impressive Shwemawdaw- built by the Mon people over a thousand years ago, is one of Burma’s most sacred sites. Continue onto the 55-meter long reclining Shwethalyaung Buddha, the four seated Buddhas at Kyaikpun and the old palace of Kambozathadi. If time permits, you also visit Hantharwaddy Pagoda to explore interesting Nat figures and enjoy the great view of Bago from the upper platform.

Transfer back to your hotel in Yangon. Lunch and dinner on your own.

Vietnam tours have been awesome, especially Ashley Trang, the agent assigned to us. After finding this tour company on Facebook and making contact with them, Ashley immediately responded to my query. She worked tirelessly and efficiently to make sure that she catered to our every need and requirement. With her advice and expertise we here able to put together an itinerary, that has allowed us to have the best experience of this beautiful country, people, food and sights.

Our trip went without hitches from being transferred to airports and awesome hotels, organised private tours with knowledgeable English speaking tour guides and plenty free time with the best advice to explore at our leasure.

Ashley paid us a personal visit at our hotel in Hanoi, a gesture beyond her scope of duty. We have left Vietnam with very pleasant memories and will definitely recommend Vietnam Tours to family and friends.

I booked my tour and from the moment of first contact Trung was amazing. He put together a bespoke tour for us that included everything we wanted to see (Hanoi, Halong Bay and Hoi An). The hotels were great, perfectly located and all the staff were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The day tours and experiences were exactly what we were looking for and far exceeded our expectations. It truly was an amazing tour we will never forget.

From day one the tour planning with Ashley from Vietnam tours was perfect and we had no trouble with pic-ups, tour guides and accommodation. The tour was informative and most enjoyable. We could not have asked for a better and more professional tour adviser than Ashley for the company. We had the best in 15 days what Cambodia and Vietnam could offer!!

Tipping is not customary in Vietnam but it's highly appreciated. Most the high-end services include a service fee but if you receive a service that exceeded your expectation, then a tip is highly recommended. Normally, you should tip at least 1-3 USD/pax/day for your guide and driver.

A Response from Seni World 18/07/2019

Vietnam's weather is tropical climate with high humidity creating a favorable condition for many insects especially mosquitoes. Whenever you head outside especially in mountainous areas, be sure to apply repellent to all areas of exposed skin.

A Response from Seni World 15/04/2019

Depending on individual hotels, most of the hotels in Vietnam are equipped with all necessary amenities such as hair dryers, private bathroom, safety box, shampoo, body lotion and more. If you're not sure about the quality of these kinds of stuff, you can bring your own or buy outside.

A Response from Seni World 07/12/2018

You can easily find an ATM at any major cities across the country. Though, it's hard to find one in local areas, so make sure you prepare enough money for a journey out of the city.  Do not keep too much money along you to avoid the risk of theft.
