On arrival, Vietnamtour.co.za's guide and driver will meet you from the airport and take you to the bustling market of Nyaung U in Old Bagan. Located in the northeastern part of Bagan, Nyaung U Market is Nyaung U Village’s local market. Here locals gather every day to buy and sell everything from fresh produce and meats to flowers and pottery. Afterward, move onto to Golden Shwezigon Pagoda to learn more about the local Buddhism.

Proceed to the Bagan plains to marvel at the numerous temples and stupas dotted over the plain. On the way, stop to visit Ananda Temple - one of the four main temples remaining in Bagan. Ananda temple is considered to be one of the most surviving masterpieces of the Mon architecture.

As the day comes to a close, pay a visit to Shwesandaw Pagoda for a breathtaking view over the region at sunset.

In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and continue your excursion. You will pay a visit to some other famous monuments in Bagan including Dhammayangyi Temple, Htilominlo Temple.

Continue your trail to the rural village of Minnanthu near central Bagan to get an authentic experience of the rustic local life. The locals here live on houses built in the traditional way of Myanmar countryside.

A visit to the village is a great way to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life as you have a chance to take in the peaceful atmosphere of the region.

Strolling around the village, you could see some local monuments dated back to centuries ago like Tayokepyay Temple, Laymyatnar Temple, Nandaminnya and Payathonzu temple.

Overnight at the hotel in Bagan.

Today, you will explore Mt Popa with a drive through the planes. Mount Popa is a solitary peak topped by gold stupas. It is an extinct volcano which is believed to be home to the ‘nats’, ancient Burmese animist spirits.  To reach the top, you need to remove shoes and climb the 777 steps to the summit. Along the way, you will pass by many shrines with local pilgrims.

Head back to the base of the shrine for a drive back to Bagan. Your stop is the village of Shwe Hlaing after around 20-30 minute drive.

Exploring the village, you are offered a great chance to witness first-hand the traditional production of palm toddy including the step of collecting the liquid to the step of creating the drinks and sugars.

Your traditional lunch will be served under the shade of toddy trees in the beautiful local setting. This is a great way to experience the unique lifestyle of the locals here.

In the afternoon, head back to Bagan.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be picked up and transferred to the Bagan jetty for a cruise upriver on a private riverboat to Kyauk Gu U Min.

While floating on the waterways of the Irrawaddy river, you will have a great chance to enjoy the stunning views of life on the water: the fishermen with their nets, local ferry boat moving around, the hidden riverside villages and small Bagan temples.

Upon reaching the village of Sae Lan, disembark for a short walk. Located by the Irrawaddy river, Sae Lan is a sleepy riverside village where the locals live on farming and fishing. Their life seems to be simple but always happy.

Continue your boat trip to the east of the river towards Kyauk Gu U Min. Take a short walk to a beautiful temple featuring intricate stone carvings with religious figures and flowers on the door.

After the visit, back on board for a cruise back to Bagan. You will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.

End of tour.

Vietnam completely blew us away - one of our best experiences ever! From the bustling of the Old Quarters in Hanoi in the north, thru beautiful Hoian with its thousand colorful lanterns in Center, down to Ho Chi Minh with the tunnels and Mekong river, this has just been one of the most scenic, most exquisite tours. The natural beauty of Halong Bay took our breaths away and it's one of the places we will definitely return to in future. Thank you so much to Trung Hoang who made this tour extra special - your assistance and guidance will hard to top! You were the best!!!

Vietnam tours have been awesome, especially Ashley Trang, the agent assigned to us. After finding this tour company on Facebook and making contact with them, Ashley immediately responded to my query. She worked tirelessly and efficiently to make sure that she catered to our every need and requirement. With her advice and expertise we here able to put together an itinerary, that has allowed us to have the best experience of this beautiful country, people, food and sights.

Our trip went without hitches from being transferred to airports and awesome hotels, organised private tours with knowledgeable English speaking tour guides and plenty free time with the best advice to explore at our leasure.

Ashley paid us a personal visit at our hotel in Hanoi, a gesture beyond her scope of duty. We have left Vietnam with very pleasant memories and will definitely recommend Vietnam Tours to family and friends.

Vietnam's weather differs greatly from region to region.  Depending on where and when you're going to visit, make sure you prepare for the weather before you go.

North: Best time to visit is during spring (from February and April) and autumn (from September to November). The temperatures are more moderate with lighter rainfall

Central: Best time to visit is between January and August when the weather is dry with no heavy rains

South: The best time to visit the region is during the dry season, between December and April when the city experiences warm weather without rain showers.

If you're planning to visit the whole country, it is possible to travel to any part of Vietnam during any season.

A Response from Seni World 06/12/2018

Depending on your place of choice and your interest, the duration could be varied. Normally, for first- time travelers, it will take you about 10- 14 days to discover the must-see attractions throughout Vietnam.

A Response from Seni World 22/12/2018

There are two available methods for passport holders from South Africa to choose to apply for a visa to Vietnam. You can either apply for your visa at the local embassy or obtain a visa on arrival with a visa letter.

You need to have a passport which is effective for at least 6 months beyond arrival date, 2 photos 4x6 and 2 blank pages on it for visa stamp (which costs 25$) and a visa letter. When you book tours with vietnamtour.co.za, we will offer a visa letter for free.

Our price doesn't consist of international flight tickets. If you have any problem in finding international flight tickets, we could book them for you.
